Now in it's 23rd year, the Duiske Concert Series once again sets out to bring three nights of outstanding musicianship to the unique setting of Graiguenamanagh's 13th century abbey on the banks of the River Barrow. It may be November, but the venue will be as warm as the welcome. If it ain't broke don't fix it- and this year's line-up features return visits from two old friends of Duiske - the iconic traditional group Altan, who first performed for us twenty odd years ago, and the immensely talented and popular Irish pianist Finghin Collins, who's programme will include work by Schubert, Chopin, Kinsella and Prokofiev. Central to Duiske's policy down the years has been the desire to present outstanding classical musicians not just from Ireland but from all over Europe and North America; and to give a platform to young and emerging talent - Finghin first played for us in his teens . The third concert of the week-end fulfils both criteria when mezzo soprano Jessica Costelloe is joined on stage by Polish pianist Marek Ruszczynski and the German violinist Sebastian Mueller. We hope you'll join us, and enjoy the very particular atmosphere of Duiske.
